St Abbs - Cathedral Rock

There are a few ways of diving Cathedral Rock, boat dive, Snorkel to the site or dive from the entry point. This site does not warrent a boat dive and is very unneccesary as it's not a difficult dive in terms of physical strain. Therefore option 1 is to snorkel out to the site so you "Find it" so you have plenty of air to admire the huge rock formation, corals, and super friendly Rasse and beautiful reef walls. The tip of one of the 3 Rocks which make up the dive site is visible except at high water, see our pictures section on the right. This is in line with the south harbour wall, when you are just about to get in the water at the entry / exit point the bearing is 120 degrees. Otherwise if you want to dive to the site, enter the water and dive down past the south east side of Broad Craig the rock formation right infront of the Entry / Exit. You will enter a small gully with kelp and rocky areas where a huge array of life resides in the summer months especially August onwards. Keeping in the gully with Broad Craig on your left and harbour wall on the right hand side you will pass an overhang to reach a pebbly boulder floor.
